Formed by Cameroon government after Cameroon's withdrawal from Air Afrique, with Air France help (25%, later reduced to3.6%). Started operations on 1/11/71. Temporarily ceased ops in 6/2003, again in 11/03. Entered bankrupcy 2/05. Assets were to be purchased in 7/06 by Delta First Airlines (joint-venture between SN Brussels Airlines and CENAINVEST investment fund, a subsidiary of Afriland First Bank), but tender reopened unilateraly in early 2007 by Cameroon government. Ceased ops again in 2/08. Expected to restart in 8/08; eventually postponed to 2009, as Cameroon Airlines Corporation/Camair (qv).
