SCIC majority stake expected to be taken over by Vietnam Airlines on 15/2/11 (approved 21/1/12 by government), with Jetstar Pacific remaining an independent carrier. Placed on a special financial supervision watchlist in 5/20 by the government. Qantas 30% share sold in mid-2020 to Vietnam Airlines (now 98%); airline renamed to Pacific Airlines (announced 15/6/20).

Vietnam AL shares increased to 94% by 2004, reduced to 86.49% by 2005 - fully transferred to Vietnam's Ministry of Finance (State Capital Investment Corp) on 21/1/05 for resale to private investors. 30% purchased in 6/2005 by Singapore's Temasek Holdings (majority owner of Singapore Airlines, co-owner of Tiger Air). Stake purchased in 2006 by Saigontourist. Planned to re-launch itself during 2/07 as a budget low-cost carrier. 18% stake purchased by Jetstar via Qantas (announced 24/4/07, completed 31/7/07), (was to be increased to 49% by 2009). Re-branded Jetstar Pacific on 23/5/08 with Qantas' stake increased to 30% in 2010.
